Winners for the “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” contest are here.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is the skinny on this week’s writing contest.
For the basics, see our Weekly Contest page.
This Week’s Prompt
“Planes, Trains and Automobiles”
This week’s prompt is about getting where you’re going. Tell us about falling in love on the morning commute, lifting wallets on a train car, or making a disastrous attempt to join the mile-high club.
This is about the journey, not the destination. Travel writing is fine in its own right, but for this contest, the 20-minute commute is of greater interest than the round-the-world odyssey.
Fiction and art are both eligible. Seeing as how a picture is worth a thousand words, let’s limit the written entries to that length. Insiders know that we’re big fans of micro-pieces, so don’t be shy about submitting just a few fabulous lines.
The Prize
$25.00 USD
How to Submit
This week we’re going to try it directly on the blog.
If the full story fits into a blog comment, post the full piece there. If not, post the beginning as a comment and either provide a link to the full story and send it our way by email (submissions@softcopypublishing.com). You must post at least part of the story to the comment section to be eligible.
Comments require approval before they’ll appear, but we’ll try to stay on top of that.
Dates
This contest will run through Wednesday, November 10th around 9:00pm Pacific Time.
Winning
SoftCopy will choose this week’s winner.
I’d to encourage you to comment on each other’s writing. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of being appreciated for you work.
Good Luck!
Valerie Nygaard, SoftCopy Publishing
